Sue Vincent passed from this organic life into the world of Being, early this morning. Her partner, Stuart France, was with her, as was her family.

(Above: Sue about to have lunch outside one of her favourite places on the moors at Ilkley – her ‘spiritual home’.

She leaves two fine sons and two delightful grandchildren, Hollie and Imogen… and a famous dog named Ani, whose books have outsold anything the rest of us have ever written.

Sue was one of the founding Directors of the Silent Eye, planned through the winter of 2012, and established in the spring of 2013. She described it as one of the most important things she ever did.

I will be writing a little about the history of our Mystical School on Thursday’s Silent Eye blog, and copied, here.

(Above: Sue and Stuart on Ilkley Moor (with hat) after one of our preparatory walks for a coming workshops)

She leaves us all with fond memories of her fiesty and indefatigable spirit, her love of life, and her deep empathy with the cares of others.

(Above: the three of us on Ilkley Moor. Taken with my camera set on self-timer that fell off its rock immediately after this was taken…)

The Silent Eye will carry on its work, as she would have wanted. Sue will be deeply missed…

  1. Thanks, Steve. I have already wept and will doubtless weep more.. and I never met Sue.. She somehow reached that vital, mysterious part of a human being which is difficult to define! She, of course, was much to young to leave this mortal coil when she filled such a vital role for others, but life and death is ever a mystery….Her vital energy and beautiful words will be a fitting legacy. Love and peace. Joy xx

    • Thank you, Joy. Like many such ‘bright stars’, Sue was a mixture of fire and water… I think she was constantly astonished by how well known and loved she had become xx

  3. Steve, I’m deeply sorry for your loss, and our loss of Sue in this world. She touched my life and many others in our blogging writers community. I recently took part in the Sue Vincent Rodeo on the Carrot Ranch that supported her and her family, and I appreciate you passing along this news. I’m sure her writing will reach many more people, and it’s a legacy that’s sweet to have. But her indefatigable spirit will be missed.

    • She will, Sheri. But her writing legacy with Stuart and Gary will live on. And our workshops seem to linger in the hearts and minds of those who met and knew her x

    • Thank you, Robbie. Lots of sadness, here. But we knew it was coming. Stuart has been an heroic carer foe Sue, these past months. We will miss her, greatly ❤️

  13. The thing I’m missing most, and it’s a silly little thing really, is not seeing her tiny avatar image in the ‘liked’ rogues gallery at the bottom of the posts on the blogs we have/had/have in common.
I’m so glad to hear the School will continue. 🙂
