(📩 100 words, seven photos – two minute read)

I noticed that some of my favourite photos had bicycles in them. There’s something ‘happy’ about a bicycle. I had a look back over the years I’ve been blogging and picked out my favourites.

(In Ghent, Belgium)

Some of these are for decoration, or an eye-catching feature to draw you into a local business.

Some are real machines, ready to carry you off on an adventure, ecologically powered by your own effort.

(In Potts Point, Sydney)

They’re all smilingly eye-catching. They all speak to the soul in their quiet and harmonious ways…

(In Porto Mogan, Gran Canaria)

Some make you think of warmer, holiday destinations, where the idea of pedalling gently in the soft air sounds delightful.

(In a coffee shop in Kendal)

Others are purely decorative, fixed to walls as part of the decor, or even fixtures for lighting.

(In a department store in Cork, Ireland)

Some are even experimental; like this ‘Velesophy’ bike, made from recycled coffee capsules)

(In Hotel Chocolat, Glasgow)

    • Thank you, Darlene. It’s a great loss that you have not (never too late!); they are things of great joy and wonderful exercise. Sadly, our collie rather curtailed our former extensive use of them… 😊

        • I would have liked to help you with bicycling. It really is a joy. Recently, my son, who lives in Leeds, introduced me to electric biking – even trusting me with his son, our only grandson, on the back in his safety seat. He’s nearly two. We had a great time and I was amazed how good the technology was.
Lovely photos of you and the Thai monk. They are very special people. Did they teach you to meditate? 🧘‍♀️

          • I have heard good things about electric bikes. How fun to take your grandson out with you. I bet he loved it. The monk gave me tips on meditating which I try to do before, after and during yoga. He was such a nice man and was so pleased to meet someone from Canada.
