Beyond the Hawthorne

Skies of blue

Trick eye to thinking

Summer’s due

Not yet! The mind

Replies, as frozen fingers

May betray

Spring’s breeze for

Deeper pockets’ warmth.

  1. It’s good to see a post from you, Steve. May can be either cold, hot, or perfect. I’m still bringing tomato and pepper plants inside at night. Only 5 degrees last night.

  2. May can be a tricky month, often tricking us into thinking the warm weather is here to stay. Even here in Spain. We’ve had lovely warm days and then today, the clouds rolled in and the wind blew cool. Had to get out a sweater!

    • Thank you, Michael. It’s been a difficult few months with my mother’s final decline and death. She was 95; so a good innings… I’ll try to ease myself back into the WordPress world. Your comment is much appreciated.

  3. I am so sorry about your Mum Steve. My condolences to you and your family. 95 is a good age, the same age my Mum was when she passed away. So many happy memories, plus the mirror image shows she’s always with me. God bless.
