From Stuart

This notion, in the vague
form in which it as come down to us,
is probably more easily accessible,
or, as some might have it, ‘fluffier’.
*
Still, few would deny that
places can have atmospheres,
but what one actually puts that
atmosphere down to is these days
largely a matter for personal delectation,
and hence, hardly likely to cause too much in the way of disruption.
*
In the past much more store was set by such things,
and these vague notions assumed
a more ‘concrete’ form
and were correspondingly
given greater weight.
*
But to what end?
