You may not have been there…
You may not be a ‘dog person’. Heaven knows I wasn’t.
Cats were my thing. A lifetime of cats; beautiful furry, purry creatures that are haughty and mysterious and can manipulate space, time … and place, when you’re looking for them.
But few of them would wait by your side when you’re having a sandwich in the garden of a country pub.
And none of them will sneak under the table when you’ve dropped your napkin…
To offer it back to you.

Totally different animals, and I think I prefer dogs too…

Thank you, Jaye… i love both, we have collie and (rescue) Rag Doll cat. They both keep us busy… and hopefully, younger than we would otherwise be! ❤️

Aren’t they just wonderful? Maya has perfected the Poor Little Me I’m Starving look so we are trying to deter her from scrounging, especially from guests! I make her lie down and ignore her until I’ve finished, then put anything I’ve left for her in her bowl. She’s getting the idea.

Hi Steve, that’s such a lovely photograph. I’m a cat person by nature, but do make exceptions for adorable dogs. They’re good fun and can be very touching. If a cat appears affectionate, you can be sure it’s only pretending. 🙂

Like you, we had cats for years. Now we have our two rescue dogs and are smitten. The loyalty is unbelievable. I feel a connection with the dogs I never had with our cats. Someone once said, “You feed a cat, but you own a dog.” We love all of the fur babies we’ve had in our lives.
