And then one day there will unfold
Before delighted gaze
A purple ring where thickest mud
Had tempered walks on winter days
⦿
Where sliding boots had struggled
To cross the sodden land
Our eyes now look with wonder
To gaze on colour’s gentle hand
⦿
Time and tide’s persistence
Their essence of ascent
From sodden bulb to flower’s joy
A hidden rite of innocence
⦿
Directed upwards, called to seek
The calling power’s face
As cheek by mote they flex and float
To form the softest carapace
⦿
Awake and break dark winter’s chains
Cast off the inner gloom
And breathe the air with lilac stare
Then give the light its living room

Beautiful, Steve. Looking forward to the further unfolding of the season. It has been a long, wet winter of introspection.

Thank you, Micheal. It has been a wet and awful winter. The mysterious blaze of crocuses at Kirkby Lonsdale was a delight to the senses.

Lovely, Steve. Lilacs are so wonderfully fragrant. Beautiful heralds of spring. Those are pretty crocuses too.

Thank you, Diana. It was such a surprise to find them where there had only been a muddy field, the week before.

Good because I fully intend to come back. Perhaps by then I will have achieved my “Wise Woman of the Universe Status” which I desire to earn. Now Wise Women are not necessarily leaders, but they have reached an agreement of understanding with the universe and they are there to share what they know and to help other women to obtain their Wise Women of the Universe status as well. Every woman can obtain this, and I am not a man, or I don’t think I am at least, so I cannot speak for the men, but I strongly suspect that men too can obtain great wisdom and understanding of the way things are and what our place is with regard to that. I am pretty sure a lot of the men on this blog (and others as well) have attained their status already. It may just be different from the way we women attain ours, but just as essential). Thank you all.
